Washing Patio

  • Level of difficulty: Easy
  • Estimated time taken: 30 minutes - 1 hour
  • Tools required:
  1. Pressure washer
  2. Bucket
  3. Patio cleaning solution
  4. Hard Brush
  5. Broom
  6. Hose

How to

Step 1: Clear patio of all furniture

  • Remove all furniture, plants, barbeque, etc

Step 2: Sweep

  • Using both your hard brush and broom, sweep off all leaves, dirt, and any debris on the patio

Step 3: Prepare cleaning solution

  1. Follow directions on your cleaner to properly dilute the solution
  2. Pour solution into a bucket

Step 4: Scrubbing

  1. Pour solution in small sections of your patio at a time
  2. Scrub each section until you have covered the entire deck
  3. Don't rinse it off yet!

Step 5: Waiting

  1. After you have scrubbed your patio, allow the solution to continue to clean your patio
  2. Wait about 15 minutes or however long your cleaning solution says to wait

Step 6: Pressure washing

  1. Work in small sections at a time
  2. Ensure your pressure washer is set to the correct settings according to the instructions
  3. Ensure you hold the pressure washer at an even height the whole time or your patio will look splotchy

  2. Spray nozzle
  3. Hands ready to get dirty

How to

Step 1: Step up

  1. Set up your hose with your spray nozzle
  2. Turn on

Step 2: Soften up the dirt

  1. Spray down your entire patio with water to soften the dirt

Step 3: Pull some weeds

  1. Get on your hands and knees and spray the weeds in the same direction with the nozzle very close to the weeds
  2. While spraying the weeds, grab the root of each weed and remove it with your fingers

Step 4: Continue until complete

  1. Continue working throughout your patio until all weeds are removed
